What to Expect
The first time we visited Tribeca, we thought the restaurant had chosen a very dramatic mood: dim light, candles everywhere, and a warm, intimate atmosphere!
It turned out it wasn’t part of the concept at all — there had been a storm and a major power cut in the area, and the kitchen had to close early. We ended up coming back another day :)
Tribeca is one of those places that surprises you!
From the outside it’s just a building on a village street. Then you walk in — and suddenly there’s high ceilings, a classic brasserie feel, thoughtful lighting, and even different levels inside the dining room.
It feels welcoming and a bit “old-school” in the best way.

The menu leans Portuguese, but with a broader Mediterranean influence, and the overall experience is consistently solid: very good food, a clearly high level of service, and a setting that feels carefully put together without trying too hard.
Tribeca is not in the “cheap local” category by Portuguese standards — but it’s not overpriced either. You pay a bit more than in the most traditional village restaurants, and in return you get quality, atmosphere, and attentive service that justify the price.
Why We Recommend It
Tribeca is close enough to be easy, yet different enough to feel like a little discovery.
It’s the kind of restaurant that works well for couples and groups alike — a relaxed but refined evening out, with atmosphere and professionalism, without becoming formal or stiff.
