About Jorgen

I’m Danish and Swedish by heart, but Portugal is the place where my life got a new dimension. After more than 30 years in the travel industry, planning holidays for others, I walked away from it all, packed my bags, and moved south. I traded stability for sunshine, routine for ocean wind, and spreadsheets for something far more romantic: a life built on courage, curiosity, and a deep love for this coastline.

I didn’t just move here… I built a life here.
I married Erika on a beach as close to paradise as you'll ever find – bare feet in the sand, Atlantic waves in front of us, and a feeling of “this is right”. It hasn’t always been easy. Erika and I come from two very different worlds and we are two very different people. But we’re fighters, stubborn in the best way, and we’ve made this life work because we choose it every day.

 

I guess I’m a romantic – in the big sense of the word.
I love sport. I love nature. I love genuine, local places far from the obvious. And I love giving service that feels real. Details matter to me. Surprises matter. I get energy from creating experiences that feel personal, thoughtful, and a little bit better than expected.

 

Living here gives me something no guidebook can:
Real insight. Real contacts. Real everyday knowledge.
I know the golf courses because I play them. I know the hotels because I visit them. I know the owners, the staff, the hidden spots, the shortcuts, the stories.

I’m even a member of Benfica Golf Club – a golf club with no golf course. Happy people, friendships and always with lunch and a glass of wine after the golf.

Things work different in Portugal. Often (not always!) it suits the Scandinavians well and we can fully enjoy the charm of this country.
