Slope-Tables & Score Registration

Summary

To register your score correctly after a round in Portugal, it helps to understand a few key numbers in advance — especially slope and course rating.

Before Your Round

Before you start your round, it can be useful to know how many shots you will receive on the course.

This is based on your handicap and the course’s slope table (“Tabela de Handicap”).

On these tables, you will often see both 100% and 95%.

For normal rounds, you should use 100%, which shows your full playing handicap.

The 95% value is mainly used in competitions and can usually be ignored.

After Your Round

Registering Your Score

If you are playing as a Danish or Swedish golfer, your round must be registered at home:

Denmark → GolfBox

Sweden → MinGolf

This is not done automatically when playing abroad, so it is your responsibility to enter the score after your round.

What Information Do You Need?

To register your score correctly, you will typically need:

  • Tee played (e.g. yellow, white, red)

  • Course Rating (CR)

  • Slope Rating (SR)

  • Par

Course Rating (CR) indicates how difficult the course is for a scratch player.

Slope Rating (SR) indicates how much more difficult the course plays for an average golfer.

Tip: Take a photo of your scorecard after the round — it makes registration much easier later.

Scorecard vs. Slope Tables

The values shown on the scorecard are usually correct — but only if you play from the “standard” tee for your group.

If you choose a different tee (for example, men playing from blue or red tees or women from yellow), the correct values may be different.

In that case, you should use the official slope tables to find the correct numbers.

When to Register Your Score

There are no strict rules about when you should register your round.

Some players prefer to do it immediately after the round, while others wait until the evening or even until they return home.

If you are playing with others — especially if you are competing — it can be a good idea to agree in advance how and when scores should be registered, to keep things fair for everyone.
