After four great years with International Pairs in Denmark and Sweden, a new chapter begins — WestGolf Portugal. The same people, the same passion — but now focused on golf, life, and inspiration in Portugal.

From International Pairs to WestGolf Portugal

I owe you an explanation — especially to all of you who have been part of International Pairs in Denmark and Sweden the last few years. 🙂

After four seasons and 150 tournaments across Scandinavia, International Pairs suddenly disappeared — and then WestGolf Portugal appeared.

The answer is simple: it’s the same person and the same company.

 

The Story Behind the Change

The Portuguese company WGPT Unipessoal Lda held the rights to arrange International Pairs tournaments in Denmark and Sweden from 2019–2024.

Together with a Portuguese travel agency we initiated "West Golf" in 2019 with big plans.

This was more or less at the same time as Covid was discovered. Bad timing! Tough times!

But WGPT continued on its own and ran International Pairs from 2021–2024 — a big success, great fun, and a lot of work in a challenging market.

Over these four summers, we have always kept a strong Portuguese connection — with local partners and fantastic cooperation.

A good example is our Hole-in-One prize in 2023 and 2024: a very exclusive golf and wine trip to Portugal.

We have also had golf trips to Royal Óbidos Golf Resort as part of our prize table and lottery prizes.

 

Golf, People, and Inspiration

For me, golf has always been more than a game — it’s a way to bring people together and to discover new places, food, and inspiration.

That’s exactly what I want WestGolf Portugal to be about.

We have agreed with Royal Óbidos to continue our cooperation and represent this fantastic golf resort in Scandinavia.

With this, it felt natural to offer a way for golfers to experience Portugal themselves — and we thought:

why not re-invent WestGolf? 🙂

 

What WestGolf Portugal Will Be

So this is where WestGolf Portugal starts.

Not like a traditional golf travel agency — but more like a small, personal Portuguese golf package bureau.

We focus on a limited geographic area, we know the golf courses, and we recommend experiences that go beyond the fairways — things and places that add real value to life, also when you’re on a golf trip.
